Abstract

Error probabilities and power penalties produced by crosstalk are theoretically investigated. Expressions for the computation of the error probabilities using Gaussian and non-Gaussian models are presented. Experimental results for the one and two crosstalk cases are shown and compared to the theoretical computer-calculated results. The power penalties predicted by the Gaussian and non-Gaussian models are compared and the results are discussed.
