Abstract
Automated vehicles are commonly used in industry 4.0 to transport objects from one workstation to another. To perform all the tasks, however, the number of vehicles needed is still being considered. Several factors affect the performance of automated vehicles, including scheduling, loading, unloading, return travel time, waiting time, delay, and battery consumption. Complexity is also increased by the number of charges required by automated guided vehicle (AGVS) for performing the tasks as well as a variety of scenarios. Using estimated calculations, this article proposes a method to calculate the number of charges required for AGVS. The battery consumption of the AGVs during task execution on each workstation is used with the help of time constraint events to determine the battery consumption for each workstation. The battery discharge rate is tracked by three different workstations. Based on an assumption, we propose an estimation model that calculates the power consumption using the loading current, unloading current, idle current, and battery capacity. Our model is evaluated using the Any Logic simulation tool, which allows us to compare the results to the estimates. Based on the results of this formulation, we can estimate the number of charges required to perform the tasks. Furthermore, the results indicate that increasing automated guided vehicles will give us a better chance of completing tasks on time.
