Abstract

Causes for the appearance of errors in a previously applied procedure for calculating transformer windings using the method of geometric mean distance (GMD) are pointed out. New computation formulas based on the GMD method are deduced for windings with arbitrary sizes and arbitrary mutual arrangements on a magnetic core, including windings with a maldistribution of magnetizing forces over height.
