Abstract

Abstract A hybrid system is one which involves the interaction of discrete and continuous dynamics; in a nonlinear hybrid system , the continuous dynamics may be nonlinear and therefore may model quite general physical systems. Designing controllers for hybrid systems involves generating both the continuous nonlinear control law as well as the logic for the controllable transitions between discrete states. Tn this paper, we present our technique for synthesizing controllers for nonlinear hybrid systems, a method which is based on solving a system of coupled partial differential equations- Then, we discuss a numerical algorithm based on level set methods for solving this system of equations.
