Abstract

Experimental values of speed of sound, u, and density, ρ, of binary mixtures of 1,4-butanediol + α-picoline or β-picoline at different temperatures T = (303.15, 308.15, 313.15, 318.15) K are used to calculate various thermoacoustical parameters like, Thermal expansivity, α, Isochoric temperature coefficient of internal pressure, χ, Isobaric acoustical parameter, K, Isothermal acoustic parameter, K′ and Isochoric acoustical parameter, K′′. By using these values available volume for pure liquids and liquid mixtures have been calculated by using various relations at temperatures T = (303.15–318.15) K with interval of 5 K over the mole fraction from 0 to 1 with interval 0.1. Good agreement was observed between the values from various methods proves the applicability of above parameters for the calculation of the available volume in liquid mixtures. Furthermore, non-linearity parameter, B/A, has also been calculated by four different approaches.
