Abstract

A computer code is presented to determine the concentration distributions due to vehicle emissions in urban or rural areas. The following factors have been taken into consideration: (i) the built-up area and terrain height; (ii) meteorological conditions (wind, stability, precipitation); and (iii) the traffic mix and flow along individual street segments. The data input is managed by means of menu techniques. Output of the computation are plots of the wind-field and contour area plots of the pollutants CO, NO, and NC as well as SO 2, Pb and soot. In this paper a comparison between measurements and computations, as well as a sensitivity analysis with respect to the input data, is given for CO.
