Abstract

On the first anniversary of compulsory microchipping of dogs in England, Scotland and Wales, Dogs Trust has noticed a decline in the number of stray dogs for which it is impossible to trace an owner. However, there are still dogs without microchips, owners failing to update their details in databases, and dogs lacking collars and tags, so there is still room for improvement.
