Abstract
Osteonecrosis of the jaws (ONJ) is a rare but severe complication of antiresorptive medications, such as bisphosphonates. To gain insight into the role of tooth extraction and dental disease in ONJ pathogenesis, this study investigated socket healing after extraction of healthy or periodontally compromised teeth in rats treated with zoledronic acid (ZA).
