Abstract
To compress phase‐modulated microwave pulses, it is proposed to use a chain of ring resonant cavities differing in eigen‐frequencies and Q‐factors. Both space‐time and spectrum approaches are fit to explain the method. The power gain in principle is not limited, but practically may be up to 10–15 times. Either closed or, to avoid the RF breakdown, quasi‐optical cavities can be used.
