Abstract

The compressed liquid densities of pure cyclopentane, n-heptane and its binary mixtures were measured with the vibrating-tube densimeter. The temperature ranges were from 293.15 K to 363.15 K and the pressures up to 70 MPa. The density data were correlated with the Tammann-Tait equation. The excess molar volumes, isothermal compressibility and isobaric thermal expansivity were calculated and discussed. In addition, the SRK and PR equation of state and the corresponding volume-translation equations were used to predict the densities of the mixtures, and the predictive accuracy was analyzed.
