Abstract
The extension and development of energy saving buildings, green buildings and low carbon buildings have promoted the application of renewable energy. Shanghai has formulated a number of policies for the promotion of renewable energy in buildings. In this paper, the present status of the main renewable resources in Shanghai is introduced. Common application of renewable energy in buildings in Shanghai mainly focuses on the solar hot water (SHW) systems, solar photovoltaic (PV) system, ground source heat pump (GSHP) system. The above three forms of renewable energy application are discussed from two aspects of investment recovery period and energy saving. Suitability for the use of renewable energy in different building types is analyzed and suggestions are given to improve the comprehensive utilization of renewable energy.
