Abstract
Two main groups of methods used for comprehensive evaluation of continental surface water quality are analyzed. A new method of comprehensive evaluation of the degree of continental surface water contamination, developed by the authors of this paper based on a combination of the differentiated and comprehensive approaches, is described in detail.
