Abstract

The aim of this work is assessment of adequacy of the existing mathematical models. These models are intended for calculation of mechanical characteristics of the metal of the high temperature parts of HAZ (Rm, ReH, НV and KV–40) for the use in the welded joints made of high-strength shipbuilding steel of the E36 grade (the cross-stream of the rolled sheet with the thickness of 50 mm). The analytical assessment has been executed in accordance with the specified chemical content and duration of the metal cooling with the maximum temperature of heating equal to 1350 oС at the range of the temperatures 850–500 °С. The experimental confirmation of the analytical calculation accuracy has been executed by using complex mechanical tests of the welded joints, which have been done in accordance with the requirements of the Rules DNV GL. Analysis of the obtained results showed that the existing mathematical models of assessment of mechanical characteristics of the metal of the high temperature parts HAZ (Rm, ReH and НV) can be practically implemented with the aim of optimization of welded joints. The work of the impact (KVТ–40) is to be checked by use in practice.
