Abstract
Purpose: Intracavitary high-dose-rate (HDR) brachytherapy using a single channel balloon applicator is a commonly used technique of accelerated partial breast irradiation. Late cardiac toxicity of breast irradiation is of concern in patients with cancer of the left breast, but limited data exist on the cardiac dose in balloon-based brachytherapy.
