The unprecedented proliferation of smartphones globally has revolutionized communication, information access, and daily life activities. This remarkable growth is largely attributed to rapid advancements in semiconductor technology, which is at the heart of these devices. Semiconductor technology, encompassing processors, memory, and sensors, has been pivotal in enhancing the performance, efficiency, and functionality of smartphones. This paper presents a comprehensive analysis of semiconductor technology in modern smartphones, addressing the principles and advancements of core components such as processors, memory, and sensors. It highlights how miniaturization of transistors, advanced storage solutions, and innovative sensor technologies enhance smartphone performance, efficiency, and functionality. The challenges faced by semiconductor technology, including physical limitations, energy efficiency, heat management, and environmental sustainability, are also explored.
