Abstract
Understanding that the health-disease process occurs in the actual life of the individuals implies researching the knowledge of their different spaces of living and influencing. In this context the familiar group acquires great importance with regards to their singularity and complexity. Thus this case study aimed to know the familiar quotidian and the interfaces with the process of getting sick in such a prospect that involves historical aspects, familiar dynamics, stages of development, supporting net, genogram and ecomap. It was performed in an urban neighbor in Pelotas, state of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, during the month of February, through home visits and contacts in the health work. We realized that the familiar contact requires strong interaction and identification with the cultural conditions related to the care, as well as expectations, possibilities and limitations.

Summary
Este trabalho é um estudo de caso, que foi realizado no decorrer das atividades do Projeto “Metodologia de Ensino: Entendendo e Atendendo a Família”. Inicialmente, explicamos o objetivo desse estudo, garantimos o anonimato e o direito de desistência em qualquer momento de sua etapa, bem como solicitamos a autorização para publicação, o que foi dado de forma verbal pela família estudada, possibilitando a coleta de dados. A construção do estudo implicou a elaboração de uma rede de suporte familiar, genograma e ecomapa, com o objetivo de conhecer o padrão de interação e de disponibilidade de recursos da família. Os mesmos autores (2002) dizem, ainda, que o ecomapa representa os relacionamentos dos membros da família com sistemas mais amplos. Fizemos uma fusão do genograma com o ecomapa, no sentido de sistematizar as informações obtidas com os dois instrumentos considerando que ambos permitem a identificação da estrutura e dos suportes da família
