Abstract
ABSTRACT The volatil oil from Zanthoxylum chalybeum Thunb. was obtained from the fresh leaves by hydrodistillation. The essential oil was analyzed by the use of GC and GC/MS. The major components of the oil were: limonene (48.06%), geranial (13.21%), neral (12.11%), terpinolene (7.91%), linalyl propionate (7.89%), citronellal (7.30%), camphene (5.28%), neryl acetate (5.74%) and terpinen-4-ol (5.28%)
