Abstract

The chemical composition of the essential oil of Clinopodium vulgare L. ssp. arundanum (Boiss.) Nyman collected from two different localities in Turkey, was analysed by means of GC and GC–MS. Thirty-seven compounds were identified, representing 89.6–90.5% of the samples. The main constituents of the oils were germacrene-D, β-caryophyllene and β-caryophyllene oxide. © 1998 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
