Abstract

The temporary prevention of entry of digesta into the duodenum of sheep increased the specific activities of amylase and lipase in pancreatic juice by 35% and 42%, respectively, and decreased that of protease by 52%. In this preparation, intravenous infusion of caerulein increased the specific activity of protease but did not change amylase activity. Key words: Pancreas, digesta flow, amylase, lipase, protease
