Abstract
A study was made of the composition and distribution of inclusions in thin-walled (10 mm) and slowly cooled thick-walled (30 mm) elements of iron castings for monoblock hydraulic distributors GG432 of the Andizhansk Machine Building Factory. The slight difference in cast iron composition is due to the difference in modification and microalloying of these melts: 1 with magnesium and tin metal; 2 with magnesium, tin, and cerium concentrate. Partially despheroidized graphite inclusions are observed in slowly cooled parts of castings. The microstructure of the metal matrix is pearlite-ferrite, and the amount of pearlite varies from 90 to 50%. Intermetallics and nonmetallic inclusions are located primarily along grain boundaries of the primary cast iron structure.
