Abstract
The X-Slide range of polyurethane composite seals is designed to take over from PTFE seals, according to the materials development scientists at Economos. The performance of these new materials is said to be superior to the PTFE grades that have traditionally been used for composite seals. The X-Slide range is the latest to be developed by the company in the Ecopur material range. The new materials have been specially developed for use in the manufacture of composite type seals that operate at temperatures up to 100°C. The company considers that tests and extensive field trials show the new material family to provide a number of benefits.
