Abstract

In this paper, the hybrid MoM-PO is proposed to simulate the composite scattering from a target located above or below a dielectric rough surface. In this approach, the traditional method of moments (MoM) is firstly used to calculate the induced current of the rough surface or the target alone. Then the process of the multiple iteration physical optics method (PO-PO) is applied to deal with the mutual coupling of the rough surface and the target. The accuracy and efficiency of the hybrid MoM-PO method are assessed by comparing the numerical results of the hybrid MoM-PO with the PO-PO and the traditional MoM. Comparing with the PO-PO, the accuracy of the hybrid MoM-PO is improved. And the hybrid MoM-PO costs less time than the traditional MoM.
