Abstract

A novel method of realization of composite right-/left-handed leaky-wave antennas featuring through broadside-beam-scanning capability and utilizing coupled-line sections has been proposed. The unique feature of the presented concept is that it allows to adjust both the beam-scanning bandwidth and the distance between consecutive unit cells thanks to the introduction of additional identical transmission-line sections to the unit cell. The concept has been theoretically analyzed as well as experimentally verified by the simulations and measurements of the developed antenna operating with the transition frequency of 3 GHz.
