Abstract

Digital metering systems are more widely utilized in smart substations in recent years. The research on composite error models of digital metering systems, however, is rarely conducted, which makes this type of metering systems lack of analytical basis for error tolerance fitting and disabled the legitimacy of the power-trading purpose of digital metering system. To improve this research, the errors of each components of digital metering system are analyzed and combined to render the composite error model. The results of verification tests on simulation environment proved the effectiveness of this composite error model, which could be used in design and analysis of the precision of the digital metering systems.
