Abstract

Speech Language Pathologists (SLPs) are constantly striving to make positive changes. There are many ways to participate in professional advocacy including opportunities for students and SLPs at all career levels. In this talk we will discuss different ways to advocate, explore the legislative process, and share state and national level resources. Learning Objectives: -Identify opportunities for professional advocacy at any stage in the profession (student to long-serving professional). -Describe the legislative process as it pertains to professional advocacy at the state level. -Compare state and national level resources for professional advocacy opportunities.
