Abstract
Performance of school buildings during the earthquake is crucial as large number of students are housed in school buildings during the weekdays. Aiming to depict the seismic vulnerability of school buildings in Nepal, large number of databases were collected after the earthquake and the data were processed to depict the seismic vulnerability of school buildings in Nepal. Based on the detailed damage assessment in the affected schools of central Nepal, we have constructed fragility functions and damage probability matrices. We considered three building classes: reinforced concrete, brick masonry, and stone masonry to depict the seismic vulnerability of school buildings.
