Abstract

The operative, postoperative and late complications of 125iodine implantation and pelvic lymphadenectomy in 36 patients with curable prostatic cancer are described. Of these patients 14 had undergone previously external beam therapy that failed, and it is in this group that the major morbidity occurred. The possible mechanism of these complications is discussed, as well as the criteria for case selection to prevent these complications.
