Abstract

Acute pancreatitis is a common disease, the mortality of severe acute pancreatitis (SAP) is high and early enteral nutrition can effectively reduce the complications and mortality of SAP. However, it is difficult to complete the whole course of enteral nutrition in the hospital, so that home enteral nutrition(HEN) becomes necessary. The main limitation of HEN is the occurrence of various problems in the procedure. This article is intended to explore and summarize the problems related to HEN, including mechanical complications, gastrointestinal side effects, metabolic problems, infection, and psychologic problems, expense, quality of life and others.
