Abstract

Background: Attitude is a learned predisposition to respond to an object positively or negatively. Knowledge is the result of "knowing" and this occurs after someone senses a particular object. Compliance with the use of PPE is influenced by several factors, such as knowledge, attitude, length of service, comfort, suitability of PPE and type of work and availability. Purpose: The aim of this research is to determine the influence of attitudes and knowledge on compliance with the use of PPE for UD Nusa workers in Sukorejo Village, Loceret District. Method: This research uses a quantitative approach with a research design cross-sectional with a total sample of 44 respondents. This research using probability sampling with simple random sampling technique. The measuring instruments used in this study were questionnaires and observations. Results: The results of this study show the influence of attitude on compliance with PPE use, p value = 0.031 and p value = 0.032 for the influence of knowledge level on compliance with PPE use with α 0,05. Conclusion: Based on the research that has been conducted, most of the respondents have a positive attitude and a sufficient level of knowledge. It can be concluded that there is an influence between workers' attitudes and compliance with the use of PPE, with a significance level of 0.031 and there is an influence between the level of knowledge of workers and compliance with the use of PPE, with a significance level of 0.032, with an alpha value of 0.05. It can be concluded that there is a significant influence between attitude and knowledge on compliance with the use of PPE in UD Nusa workers.
