Abstract

A survey assessing patrons\' compliance with library rules and regulation as they affect loaning, theft and mutilation of books over a period of ten years at Yaba College of Technology Library. Efforts have been made to present the statistical data of books borrowed by both staff and students in this college, the extent of theft and mutilation and the various ways adopted by the college authority to try the culprits of these afore-mentioned offences. To sum up, pragmatic recommendations capable of out-smarting these nefarious offenders were also put forward. Keywords: compliance, libraries, regulation, review, rulesLagos Journal of Library and Information Science Vol. 1(1) 2003: 16-23
