Abstract

On the basis of current data on the chemistry of uranium coordination compomads, the present article discusses complexing reactions employed in the principal chemical processing operations on uraniun~-bearing materials. It is shown that the overwhelming majority of dissolution, precipitation, and extraction reactions involving uranium compounds are reactions involving the formation of uranium complexes. New ideas are expressed on the mechanism involved in some dissolution, precipitation, and extraction reactions involving uranyl compounds.
