Abstract

This chapter summarizes the progress in organolanthanide chemistry during the period from 1993 to -2005. The sections in this chapter are subdivided according to ligand types, where the carbonyl, hydrocarbyl, alkenyl and alkynyl, allyl, and cyclopentadienyl and cyclopentadienyl-like compounds, the arene complexes, cycloheptatrienyl and cyclooctatetraenyl, and heterometallic compounds are covered. Organolanthanide catalysis and the use of organolanthanide complexes in organic synthesis and materials science are also discussed.
