Abstract

An ultraviolet spectrophotometric study of the complexes formed by anthranil-N,N-diacetic acid, ANDA, with gallium(III) and indium(III) has led to the development of an analytical method for the determination of these elements. The influence of some foreign ions which accompany these elements in nature was checked. The 1:1 ratio of these Me-ANDA complexes was proved by the continuous variation, the slope ratio, and the molar ratio methods. The stability of the complexes was estimated by computing the instability constant K = 7.2 x 10(-7) in the case of Ga-ANDA, and K = 1.1 x 10(-8) for the In-ANDA complex.
