Abstract
The thermal expansion, α(T), of a La2CuO4 single crystal, measured along and perpendicular to the [001] axis, is strongly anisotropic. Two α(T) anomalies, presumably of structural origin, show up: A sharp transition at 32 K, frequently accompanied by time-dependent phenomena, is followed by a broad one at 36 K.
