Abstract

An iterative method for phase retrieval for strong phase objects in the form of a complex wave function is proposed. The method utilizes three or more phase contrast images taken with plural Hilbert phase plates, and reconstructs the complex wave function by iterative numerical calculations. The method works even if there is an electron-intercepting part in the phase plates. The method is robust against noises in the images. The accuracy of the result improves when the number of images is increased.
