Abstract
On the basis of recent work [L. Lacasa, B. Luque, F. Ballesteros, J. Luque, and J. Carlos Nuno: Proc. Natl. Acad. Sci. U.S.A. 105 (2008) 4972], we extend the study to construct complex networks from colored Gaussian noise (CGN) using the visibility algorithm. It is found that as the correlation time of CGN increases, the corresponding complex network will change from an almost exponential network to an almost scale-free one. The associated network for CGN is always highly clustered, and it has a hierarchical structure and an emergent community structure. The network for large correlation time shows a small-world effect in addition to being almost scale-free.
