Abstract

AbstractThis paper aims to develop a novel model to assess the stability of FAPs supply chain by using complex network theory. After using the adjacency matrix to explicitly define the network of influencing factors of FAPs supply chain stability, the modeling approach for the network of influencing factors is offered. Four types of topological characteristic indicators are proposed: average network strength, number of nodes, betweenness, and closeness, to obtain a multi-angle assessment of affecting factors. The results indicate that among the most crucial stability factors are raw material market reliability, reprocessing plan, delivery plan, and delivery quality pass rate. The stability of the FAPs supply chain can be efficiently maintained by improving the prevention and control of these factors. The analysis process demonstrates that the assessment method based on complex network structure and topological characteristics is appropriate for assessing the stability of the FAPs supply chain, which lays the groundwork for future research on the stability of the FAPs supply chain based on complex network theory. This research has theoretical and practical implications for the control of FAPs supply chain stability.KeywordsFresh agricultural productsSupply chain stabilityComplex network
