Abstract

The cationic methyldicyclopentadienyltitanium tetraphenylborate complexes [Cp 2TiCH 3(L)]BPh 4 (L = THF, Et 2O, MeOPh) were synthesized by partial protolysis of Cp 2Ti(CH 3) 2 by [PhN(CH 3) 2H]BPh 4 in a mixture of CH 2Cl 2 and the corresponding ether as solvent. They proved to be the catalysts for ethylene polymerization under normal pressure.
