Abstract

Background A program for completing and fixing multilateral wells with large waste from the vertical at the Cuban fields was considered. Cuba currently has experience in drilling and completing several multilateral wells with large offsets from the vertical, most of which were developed and implemented at the Varadero-Zapad field. At the same time, for completion of these wells, level 1 was used according to the international TAML system, which involves drilling several wells without their attachment with casing strings. Aims and Objectives To develop the design of a multilateral well with a large departure from the vertical. Results In this paper, we propose a program for completing a multilateral multilayer well of the third level with modifications taking into account mining and geological conditions. At the same time, the results of solving the main problems are considered, including designing the design of a multilateral well, designing casing strings, developing a program for launching and cementing the production liner for subsequent multicarbon completion with non-cementing liners. The technology (equipment) for the connection between the shanks located in various boreholes in the reservoir is substantiated. We also evaluated the possibility of launching and cementing casing strings using selective buoyancy technology. For the project, a three-dimensional profile was considered, in order to prevent collisions with neighboring wells, the azimuth is subject to fluctuations. Based on the characteristics of geological formations and calculating the required diameters of casing strings and bits the classical methodology, a well design is proposed.
