Abstract

AbstractClinical audit has been accepted in the UK as an ideal method of monitoring clinical effectiveness. However, clinical topics audited need to be revisited to assess the continuing standard of care. An objective evaluation of the outcome of an audit is needed so that the re‐audit can be scheduled more effectively. The authors propose a scoring system for standardization of the process of completing the audit loop. This method would provide clear guidelines to schedule re‐audits and allow effective use of limited time and resources. It would also greatly facilitate communication between observers' auditors.
