Abstract

Oreolalax multipunctatus: is a type of alpine toad species belonging to Megophryidae. Here we firstly determined the complete mitochondrial genome of the species. It has a total length of 17,358 bp, consisting of 13 protein-coding genes, 2 rRNA genes, 23 tRNA genes and a control region. Different from the typical type of gene organization in amphibian mitochondrial genomes, the new mitochondrial genome has a tandem duplication of tRNA-Met gene and a translocation of tRNA-Trp gene from the typical “WANCY” region to the position between the tRNA-Pro gene and control region. Phylogenetic analyses using mitochondrial genomes of 19 Megophryidae species supported Megophryidae as a monophyletic group containing three subfamilies with the relationship as [Megophryinae, (Leptolalaginae, Leptobrachiinae)].
