Abstract

We review recent angle-scanned photoemission experiments on Bi 2Sr 2CaCu 2O 8 + x . The Fermi surface has been mapped completely revealing previously unobserved “shadow bands” interpreted as due to antiferromagnetic correlations. Since Bi 2Sr 2CaCu 2O 8 + x exhibits a relatively complicated incommensurate lattice modulation new measurements on a Pb-doped, unmodulated Bi-cuprate are presented for comparison.
