Abstract
This paper deals with the problem of controllability for one-dimensional vibrating systems with controls which are scalar valued functions of time only. We give some constraint sets of controls and prove exact controllability of vibrations in those constraint sets by studying the moment problem attached to this control problem precisely. Using these results, and Lyapunov’s convexity theorem for vector measures, we obtain complete controllability only with bang-bang controls.
