Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aims to investigate the mediating role of employee training effectiveness on the relationship between competitive intelligence and competitiveness. Using a sample consisting of 651 employees working in accommodation enterprises in Nevsehir, Turkey, the relationships between the variables were tested using the two-stage structural equation model analysis. The mediating effects were examined through the bootstrap method. The research findings support the proposed model to a large extent, indicating that both competitive intelligence and employee training effectiveness significantly affect competitiveness. Competitive intelligence positively influences employee training effectiveness. In addition, employee training effectiveness partially mediates the relationship between competitive intelligence and competitiveness. Based on the results, theoretical and managerial implications are provided along with the limitations and suggestions for future research.
