Abstract

The competitive adsorption model is used to describe the experimental adsorption data for binary gas mixtures on solids. The equation describing this adsorption model involves energetic heterogeneity of the solid surface and difference in molecular size of the two components. This equation gives a good representation of many experimental adsorption data, especially of the data measured at higher surface coverages.
