Abstract
Competitive adsorption on a polycrystalline Ag electrode was studied for 2- and 4-methylpyridine and pyridine at −0.4 to −0.7 V versus SCE by SERS using the in situ solution exchange method. The steric effect of the CH 3 group in the 2-position was clearly shown along with the electronic effect of each CH 3 substituent.
