Abstract
We have observed the generation and competition of the spontaneous TE 0- and TM 0-gratings in the AgCl–Ag films irradiated by s-polarized focused laser beams at angles of incidence 0.5 ÷ 10°. An essential role of double Wood’s anomalies has been shown in the TM 0-gratings formation. New peculiarities in the TM 0-gratings evolution at the mixed (s-, p-) linear polarization of the inducing beam due to dispersion of the waveguide mode magnitudes have been found.
