Abstract

Unlike many European Member States the responsibility to receive complaints, conduct investigations and punish anti-competitive practices is entrusted a single authority, competition law enforcement is orghanised in France around two distinct and complementary entities. These entities are a competition authority independent from the political power and administrative services depending on the Minister for the Economy. They together form the French Competition Network and their combination has produced important benefits : detection of many anti-competitive practices, significant investigative power, possibility to focus on priority cases, delegation of certain cases to administrative services.
