Abstract
Two reactions p + p yields K/sup +/ + K/sup -/ and p + p yields LAMBDA + LAMBDA at Pp = 1.6 Bev/c were studied in terms of peripheral collisions in order to clarify the relative strength of different exchange diagrams. Meson and baryon exchange is considered in pi /sup plus or minus /- p, pi /sup plus or minus / N, and K/sup -/-p interaction diagrams. The K/sup -/ and LAMBDA are highly peaked in the direction of p in the reactions. (R.E.U.)
