Abstract
The need for the purposeful development of those elements of new production relations and the economic mechanism that are integrally inherent in democratization and that actively promote the process stems from the mutual causality of the two main aspects of restructuring [perestroika]-democratization of society and radical economic reform. In our opinion, one of the first places among these elements belongs to the broad development of competition.
